The Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit

at the University of Dhaka

Based at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) has been working as a research, training and policy advocacy institution since 1995. The Unit aims to promote good governance in migration by helping policymakers through quality research. RMMRU was a partner of Migrating out of Poverty from 2010 - 2017.

Role of Migrating out of Poverty in South Asia

Migrating out of Poverty addresses these issues through commissioning collaborative research in the region. A regional combined studies have been undertaken for countries within the region.

In order to effectively engage with associate partners, Migrating out of Poverty supported the activities of South Asia Migration Research Network (SAMReN) and engaged with regional advocacy groups such as the Migrant Forum in Asia in order to address the regional migration issues through policy advocacy campaigns.
